Costzon Folding Billiard Table Review

Costzon Folding Billiard Table Review

The Costzon folding billiard table is a tiny table that represents HUGE VALUE for the price. It’s a fun table that the whole family can enjoy, from adults to children.

It’s especially aimed at children, which in my opinion is a fantastic pool table for the kids.

The price alone is not the only thing this mini pool table sells itself on, the gameplay is pretty good as well.

Taking everything into account, it’s a mini portable billiard table that will be hard to beat by others in the same category, despite having some drawbacks.

Costzon Folding Billiard Table Review

Design

The first place to start is the design, and I do have mixed opinions on it.

The Costzon folding billiard table has three options:

  1. Black and green
  2. Brown and red
  3. White and blue

Everyone has different tastes, but in terms of appearance alone, the classic black and green gets my vote. However, I’m a bit of a traditionalist, so the green Nylon felt is what swings it for me.

The white and blue looks a like a cheap table, although the blue cloth is very eye catching.

The red cloth on the brown wooden frame actually looks the most expensive of the three, but I tend to stay away from red colored playing cloth due to ball visibility issues

Foldable

So one of the best features of the Costzon billiard table is it’s foldable.

This is obviously a big plus, however there is something you need to be aware of: The wooden table (brown and red design) is not foldable.

It is a feature that is kind of missed in the small print by many people.

However, both the black/green and the white/blue tables ARE FOLDABLE, which poses fewer problems’ storage related.

Storage

If you go with one of the foldable designs, storage will be a lot easier.

If you are buying it for the kids, the foldable feature, is worth its weight in gold.

Most children go through phases of playing and not playing, so it’s nice to have the option of easy storage when it’s not being used.

There are tonnes of places the mini pool table can be folded up and put away, like for instance:

  • In the basement
  • Under the bed
  • Behind open wardrobe spaces etc

The Weight

Another benefit to the table is its weight. The Costzon mini table is extremely lightweight and weighs only 33 pounds.

The benefit of being so light is:

  • It’s easily transported
  • It’s easily carried
  • It’s easily moved

In my opinion, it is one of the reasons that makes it a great kids table.

If you take a road trip, or go on vacation, it’s not going to be too much trouble to bring along to keep the kids entertained in the evenings. And because of the fast and easy set up, it won’t take hours to get the games going.

Size

When buying a mini billiard table, you should be getting one that is tiny, easy to manage and will fit in the tiniest of places.

Costzon have delivered just that, as the table dimensions are:

  • 47′ (length)
  • 26′ (width)
  • 29′ (height)

The Accessories

  • 2 cues (36 inches)
  • 1 table brush
  • 1 rack
  • 2 chalks
  • 16 billiard balls (1.5′)
  • One glue

The accessories are fine if you are not too bothered by having the best equipment. Otherwise, they are a let-down.

The Cues

The cues are the biggest problem, which can arrive slightly warped. It’s like a pick n mix whether you are lucky to get two straight cues, just the one or none at all.

The cue tips also struggle to hold chalk, and are not made with leather.

If you plan on playing a lot on the table, I would consider new cues instead of playing with the ones that come with the table.

The Balls

The balls ain’t too bad to play with and if you are a casual player, or the table is for your children they will be just fine.

They were in good condition and didn’t have any cracks or chips in them which would affect their playability.

If you want to poke holes in them, they may be on the light side, a little small and do lack action. However, unless you’re an experienced player looking for these things, it’s not going to affect the majority of the players on the Costzon table.

Players that do often play, would benefit from a set of high quality 1.5″ balls, which would be the perfect size for this mini table.

The Bed

The bed plays really well, and importantly was near on completely level. It’s also pretty sturdy as well, and to be honest the whole pool table is.

Sometimes with small portable tables, the bed can feel like it’s twisting even just lifting it. However, the bed on the Costzon doesn’t warp, skew or change shape, when lifted.

The edges of the table are also braced, which does give it more protection against warping.

The Legs

Also, another common complaint with tiny tables is the weakness of the legs.

However, the legs are attached strongly to the bed, with no wobble or flimsiness in the slightest, and the same goes for the braces.

The Pockets

The pockets are a drop style pocket, which is always a good thing, however don’t leave too many balls in the pockets as it will struggle to hold the weight.

The Rubber Cushions

The rubber cushions are good and they do have decent rebound. You can play bank shots on them and if you use this as a practice table, it’s good practice to take on to a regular sized pool table.

Final Thoughts on the Costzon Folding Billiard Table Review

The Costzon folding billiard table have some fantastic features that far exceed its very low price tag.

The table plays very good, is sturdy, which is hard to find on a portable table, especially a tiny one at that. The folding legs, allow for it to be easily stored. The extremely lightweight frame is easily carried from one location to another.

If you can get past the lack of quality cues, it’s hard to find a better mini table, that offers the same level of sturdiness and playability.
